This was said on Thursday in Luanda by the EU ambassador to Angola, Tomas Ulicny, at the workshop on synergies and cooperation between projects funded by the European Development Fund (EDF) in Angola
In addition to these projects, the diplomat said that other projects in the areas of "Governance and Rule of Law, Health, Social Protection, Biodiversity, Local Development and Trade Support" are also being implemented.
The event served to contribute to increase strategic partnerships for institutional capacity building and sustainability of actions.
He pointed out that over the last 30 years, the EU has supported several projects and cooperation programmes through the EDF that, under the 10th EDF, some 214 million Euros were made available to the Republic of Angola to be spent in the period from 2014 to 2021.
The ambassador emphasized that potential synergies between projects under implementation with EDF support are an opportunity to promote cooperation between entities of the Government of Angola and initiatives implemented on the ground with the support of the European Union.
The workshop lasts two days and aims to contribute to the exchange of experiences, dialogue and the realization of the support given by the EU to the different ministries and organizations involved in the development of Angola.
The event addressed to beneficiary entities is the first phase of a two-cycle workshop that aims to identify synergies and cooperation between projects.
