Speaking to ANGOP last Thursday in Lubango City, southern Huila Province, on the sidelines of the company’s celebration gathering, the CFM board chairman, Daniel Quipaxe, said that the restructuring and modernisation of the company represents one of its greatest advances since 2006 up to the present moment.
After many years on a standstill, caused by the war that ravaged the country, the CFM received a series of investments from the state which opened new perspectives for this public company.
Daniel Quipaxe spoke of the modernisation process that the CFM has undergone, which has brought about satisfactory results for the company.
Moreover, he explained, the CFM has also been focussing on the training of staffs and technicians, having into account that the company has been receiving new equipment, such as railway engines, carriages and wagons.
“We are evolving through modernisation and, alongside that, we are training the personnel (...)”, said Daniel Quipaxe.
The activity of the Moçâmedes Railway Company (CFM), which currently has 570 workers, covers the provinces of Huila (central-south)), Namibe (south-west) and Cuando Cubango (south-east).
The recovery, rehabilitation and modernisation process of the CFM began in the year 2006.
