Government to boost agricultural production
Cuito - The government of central Bie province intends to stimulate agricultural work for the present agricultural season (2017/2018) in order to obtain greater results, with the encouragement of the peasants through the availability of more tractors, plows and other means.

Speaking to ANGOP in Cuito city, the governor of Bié, Boavida Neto, who announced the opening of this year's agricultural campaign in Cuemba municipality, 180 kilometers east of the province’s capital city, set for October 30th, reaffirmed the strong commitment to a more mechanized agriculture.
Since last August, Bié government, through the provincial directorate of agriculture, is preparing the present agricultural season increasingly empowering peasants with inputs and mechanized means.
Boavida Neto recalled that in August of this year, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Marcos Nhunga delivered seven tractors, 50 animal traction trolleys, 30 tons of various seeds, 10.000 plows, 5.000 tons of compound fertilizer, 778 machetes and 1.000 pairs of hoes.
