Huambo: FAO recommends greater monitoring of country's agricultural sector

Cachiungo - The United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Wednesday recommended in the municipality of Cachiungo, central Huambo province, greater monitoring of the agricultural sector to increase the production levels and diversification of national economy.

This was said by FAO representative to Angola, Mamoudou Diallo, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 2017/2018 agricultural campaign, chaired by the head of State, João Lourenço.

He said that the agricultural activity in the country should be well-supervised to better generate income for the community.

Mamoudou pledged FAO’s support for the Angolan Government, both in monitoring of agricultural activity and other actions related to the training of staff and the strengthening of technology.

The FAO official, who was optimistic about the increase in agricultural production levels in the country, highlighting the President João Lourenço’s opening address of agricultural campaign.

According to him, the president speech contains guidelines and strategic that boost the country economic and social development.
