Matala to invest AKz 10 billion in energy and water

Matala - At least 10 billion kwanzas will be invested over the next five years in various sectors of social and economic affairs in the municipality of Matala, southern Huila province in order to develop the locality and improve the living quality of more than 243,000 inhabitants of the district.

This fact was told to Angop Monday by the municipal administrator of Matala, Miguel António Paiva Vicente.

According to the official, this plan is included in the public investment portfolio of the local government, for the next five years.

Miguel António Paiva Vicente said that the priorities for the next five years are identified, namely projects for the energy, water, education and health sectors.

He also said that the energy sector has planned to supply electricity in the three suburb districts of the municipality, which never had electricity, namely Kilometer 7, Kamuyaulo and Candjanguite, in connection with the execution of the program to expand the electricity supply.

According to the administrator, the Ministry of Energy and Water is investing USD 24 million in the execution of a project to capture and supply drinking water that will replace the old distribution network in the urban center and the placement of another water supply system in wards that have never had water supply.
