André Moda, who was speaking at a press conference, explained that the measure aims to promote greater confidence for economic agents, a greater degree of control and supervision of forest resources and consequently the reduction of the number of companies involved in the process of forest exploitation.
Regarding partnerships between domestic and foreign companies, he said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is implementing control and monitoring of contracts, so as to ensure that the interests of the State and of the parties are not harmed.
To improve the control and supervision of transported timber, he said that inspection and marketing warehouses will be built in strategically located places to receive the wood coming from various production points.
