Harvest points to more than 20 million tonnes

Malanje -The country is expected to harvest twenty million tonnes of various agricultural products in 2018/2019 agricultural campaign, which is being prepared.

The perspective was announced Tuesday in northern Malanje province by Agriculture minister, Marcos Nhunga.

Of the products, stress goes to the 11 million tons of tubers, 4 million fruits, 3 million cereals, 2 million vegetables and 800,000 tons of leguminous plants.

Addressing the opening of second technical Council of Agriculture Development Institute, the minister spoke of the need of five million of hectares to attain this goal.

He said that 2.9 million will be performed  manually, two million through animal attraction and 19,000 mechanised.
