The Minister was speaking at the Second Technical Council of the Institute for Agrarian Development, which brings together representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, representatives of NGOs involved in the promotion of family agriculture and social partners.

This decision, according to the official, results from an assessment that his portfolio made in some companies related to the sector in deficit situation.

However, Marcos Nhunga guaranteed the payment of wages in arrears (more than a year ) to the workers of that company, some of which will be incorporated in the agricultural brigades created by the Ministry, as happened with the specialists of the same company.

Mecanagro  was created by the Angolan Government in January 2001 to provide mechanized land preparation, farming, tertiary roads and rural engineering works.

The Council, which ends Wednesday, is discussing issues related to the preparation of the 2018/2019 agricultural campaign, the status of the program to re-launch cotton and rice production, production seeds, among others.
