National Police seizes 26,000 liters of fuel destined for DRC

Mbanza Kongo - At least 26,000 liters of petrol and diesel fuel were seized in the last seven days by the National Police in the northern Zaire province in an attempt to be smuggled into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The product was being transported in containers of 259 liters by a truck to the border municipality of Cuimba and was intercepted by the police forces deployed in the municipality of Kalambata, 30 kilometers north-east of the city of Mbanza Kongo.


According to the director of the institutional communication office  of the Interior Ministry, inspector Carlos Fidel source, the seized product was handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which must decide on its destination and those implicated were taken to the
judicial organs.
