The project, operated by French oil company Total E & P Angola, is valued at US $ 16 billion and has two production wells that could produce 15 percent of the Angolan production.
To verify the functional status of the project, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Diamantino Azevedo, visited on Tuesday the project, where he requested the involvement of the operator Total in the other projects in the oil sub-sector.
The minister announced that next December the second Consultative Council of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum will have to analyze what has been done since the beginning of the legislative revision of the Petroleum Sector.

Kaombo covers an area of 800 square kilometers and has a 360-kilometer submarine pipeline network. It is the largest deepwater project in Angola.
