The dam that has been in need for rehabilitation for more than 20 years now has a retention capacity of close to three billion cubic meters for an area of about 700 hectares of irrigated land, according to the head of the municipal office for Economics Affairs of Humpata, Petronilo Emílio.

According to the official who spoke Friday to Angop, in this village, about the infrastructure, he said that its rehabilitation is part of the Economic and Productive Development Plan of the municipality of Humpata and will also allow a wider range of areas of irrigation in the locality, as well as expanding the agricultural fields.

Petronilo Emílio pointed out that it is intended to encourage investors to focus on the food processing industry and the construction of chambers for the preservation of production, since the only one in existence has been inoperative for three years, which translates into the rotting of more than five thousand tons per year of several products.
