The increase is accounted for 90 percent of the installed capacity to interconnect the northern and central systems of the country.

In 2016, the company's production capacity was of  2, 300 megawatts.

The increase is owed to the investments made in the Laúca dam based in northern Malange province and Cambambe (northern Cuanza Norte) dam, as well as the northern Zaire province -based Soyo Combined Cycle Plant.

The company is growing in view of the investments made in infrastructure, PRODEL's CEO, José António Neto, said on the sidelines of the seminar on Public Procurement Law and Control Procedure, sponsored by Audit Court.

He mentioned the interconnections  of the Northern and Central  systems, allowing energy to reach the provinces of Bié, Benguela and Huambo.

Similar works are in progress in the central, southern, northern and eastern systems.

“Studies have been conducted and there is plan for investments, and I believe that the interconnection of the systems will be implemented ”, said José António Neto.

During the seminar, Audit Office experts called for the need to comply with the Public Procurement Law and the ethics principles.
