UNICEF spends USD 250,000 on water forum
Luanda - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) spent USD 250,000 on the National Water and Sanitation Forum (Fonas), which is starting to be implemented next year in Angola.

This was said by Unicef representative, Abubacar Syltan, while speaking to the press on the sidelines ceremony to launch the forum.
According to Unicef official, the initial phase of the forum will be financed with a value from the State budget.
He stressed that achieving the goal for the water and sanitation sector entails inter-sector combined effort to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in pursuing the country's stated objectives.
In turn, the minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, said that the forum will allow the creation of a network of partner entities across the country.
He is of the view that the forum will be the central body for the preparation of experiences, guidelines and concepts.
According to the incumbent minister, the forum will allow a significant increase in the number of people who will be able to make valuable contributions to development, attracting more young people and bringing social and economic benefits to different areas of the country.
On the other hand, the Minister of Environment, Paula Francisco Coelho, said that Fonas is an important link in the support for actions in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector, proposing to the Executive strategies, ensuring better harmonisation and coordination of planning and multisector alignment processes.
An estimated 5 million kwanzas will be spent for the current functioning of the National Water and Sanitation Forum , according to the Secretary of State for Water, Lucrécio Costa.
