The company’s union's information secretary, Lourenço Contreiras, confirmed this to Angop Tuesday, saying that the workers will observe a new strike.

He assured that despite this decision the company will continue providing minimum services, but restricted to one train in the morning and another in the afternoon on the route Bungo/Viana and vice versa.

Contreiras said that the company only met two of the 19 aspects contained in demand, namely the travel award and the food allowance.

"Since the end of last strike the employer has not been working on demands to improve salaries up to 80 percent, one of the main complaints contained in the claim book," he said.
