Laúca-Huambo interconnection cuts electricity production costs
Luanda - The interconnection between Laúca, Wako Kungo, Huambo and Kuito enabled to cut roughly USD 4.4 million of monthly electricity production costs in these regions.

The reduction of costs results from the elimination of diesel in the production of electric power as well as the cut in the expenses with operation and maintenance of the power plants.
The project, which is part of the 2018 /2022 National Development Plan, aims at enhancing the people’s access to electricity, cover the needs of the economic and productive sectors and to develop the National Electric Network.
According to a document from the Ministry of Energy and Waters (Minea) that reached ANGOP on Tuesday, regardless of the scarcity of the financial resources, the above said project along with other structuring projects continue to record improvements, which have enabled to gradually expand people’s access to electric power and reduce costs.
