"Instead of betting on the export of timber, the challenge must be the local transformation of this raw material in furniture and carpentry," defended the minister, when speaking to the press, at the end of a visit to the Fair of the Furniture and Wood Industries of Angola (FIMMA2019).
On the occasion the official considered as satisfactory the quality of the products exhibited by the national companies present at the fair.
Concerning the policies of the agriculture sector, Marcos Nhunga said that the Government is engaged in disciplining the process of logging in the country, an action that does not hinder the process of transformation of the referred raw material in Angola.
The fair, an exhibition that began last Wednesday and ended on Saturday, gathered companies from the provinces of Luanda, Huíla, Huambo, Bengo and Cuando Cubango and allowed exhibitors from the furniture sector to establish contacts for future partnerships and exchange of ideas .
Under the motto "More Industry, More Jobs, More Angola", the exhibition was attended by 50 national companies.
