Mozambique: US businessmen interest in ongoing reforms in Angola
Maputo - The US businessmen have expressed interest in making investments in Angola in view of the ongoing reforms focused on macroeconomic stability.

The intention was expressed Wednesday when the Angolan Trade minister, Joffre Van-Dúnem Júnior, met with a delegation of US Department of Commerce for International Business, led by Under-secretary Gilbert Kaplan in Maputo, Mozambique.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 12th US-Africa Business Summit.
The US delegation suggested the holding of a seminar in Angola, aimed at allowing them to learn better the ongoing changes and the current legislation.
The seminar could take place as soon as the 3rd meeting of the TIFA - Trade and Investment Agreement between Angola and the US takes place, which had been scheduled for last May, is held.
The meeting discussed topics such as cooperation in institutional support with different Angolan institutions, the issuance of some notifications to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the Support Programme for Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports.
According to Angolan minister, the US side suggested a possible preferential agreement. This issue may be discussed taking into account the regional commitments assumed by Angola, such as the adhesion to the SADC and continental free trade zone.
The US businesspeople also expressed the interest in providing different variety seeds to the country.
Angolan Trade minister is Maputo, Mozambique, to attend the 12th US-Africa Business Summit, going until Friday, June 21, on behalf of the President João Lourenço.
