The government official will be heard as the declarant listed in the records by the court, also in this condition, the president of the General Tax Administration (SGA), Silvio Burity, and the current National Treasury and CNC directors.
Yet on Wednesday, during the discussion and trial, Augusto Tomás' lawyer, Paula Godinho, requested that the current Minister of Finance, Archer Mangueira, to appear in court to clarify the financial execution of the budgeted units.
Her request arises because she considers that the former Higher Inspector of the Ministry of Finance, Helena de Sousa, heard in court, provided "deficient clarifications" on the matter in court.
However, it is the understanding of the Public Prosecutor's Office that the case has reached a procedural stage where it is no longer possible to make more declarants, since this must have been done at the stage of the contradictory introduction, contrary to the mentioned step.
