Amadeu Nunes was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the 8th ordinary meeting of the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers, which, among others issues, assessed the "Integrated Rural Trade Development Programme 2019-2020.

He stated that the entire production chain until consumption is analyzed in this programme, which aims to boost national production and ensure its distribution.

According to the official, the country is able to become multi-exporter again and not depend on a single product, as shown by the statistical data for 1972 and 1973.

The integrated rural trade development programme, in line with other sectors such as transport and logistics, ensures the production flow to the consumption centers.

He stressed that the programme encourages greater private sector involvement in the implementation of the 10 measures and 173 planned actions.

The aim is to avoid errors such as those made in the implementation of previous programmes which essentially failed due to the lack of access road and the consequent decay of consumer goods in production areas.
