Japan: Japanese company strengthens investment in Angola
Yokohama - The chairperson of the Japanese construction and rehabilitation company "Marubeni", Masumi Kakinoki, said on Thursday that it is interested in supporting the construction of dams in Angola, Cunene province.

The businessman, who was speaking to the press on the sidelines a meeting with the Angolan President, João Lourenço, said he had in his portfolio the construction of a dam and water pipes in various locations in that province, affected by drought.
He explained that the dam construction project is part of the emergency action to mitigate the effects of drought in that southern part of the country.
He announced that President João Lourenço suggested, Marubeni to join a local company in building the dam, underlining that the company's focus is to participate in manufacturing projects based on a public-private partnership.
It is a company that has already participated in the recovery of the textile factories Satec, Alassola and Textang II, located in the provinces of Benguela, Cuanza Norte and Luanda, respectively, recovered recently by the Angolan state.
These projects were funded by USD 1 billion from the Japanese Bank JBIC.
