The Cabinet minister made this disclosure during a briefing with journalists on Friday, on the sidelines of the closure of the 10th Consultative Council of the Ministry of Energy and Water, having stressed that, due to this finding, the Ministry of Energy and Water and the World Bank (WB) is conducting a study to define the most appropriate model for setting tariffs, based on sector costs.

At the level of the Southern Region, João Baptista Borges exemplified South Africa, which has a tariff of 16 cents per kilovolt.

On the other hand, he made it known that Angola has an electrification rate of 50 percent, well below the desired level, so the great challenge of its portfolio is related to the expansion of access to electricity, in the light of the National Development Program.
