In a message addressed to the managers and workers of the institution for the 75 years of its existence, the Cabinet official said that the Government seeks to increase the institutional capacity and multidisciplinary coordination, in light of international principles and paradigms, taking greater advantage of the national maritime potential.

"Counting on all its collaborators, we project, as Government, a Port of Luanda whose management paradigm is aligned with the international agenda, based on the conventions to which Angola is a party, with special attention to the integration of Sustainable Development Objectives (SDOs), particularly 9, 11 and 16," reads the message.

According to the Minister, SDO 9 signals the importance of innovation and adequate infrastructures, fundamental vectors for the promotion and enhancement of economic growth through the facilitation, efficiency and effectiveness of operational and functional conditions, for all players in the value chain of foreign trade and logistics.

The official adds that within the framework of the SDO 11 defined in the United Nations Agenda 2030, transport and port structures have an important role to play in making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable by providing safe, accessible and sustainable transport for all through the expansion of public transport services.

With regard to SDS 16, they entail the creation of a more sustainable and transparent global economy, with a significant reduction in illegal financial flows, a substantial reduction in corruption and bribery in all its forms, and the development of effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels.
