This was announced by State Secretary for Budget, Aia-Eza da Silva, on Sunday in Lubango, southern Huíla province.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the visit of the Minister of State for the Economy, Manuel Nunes Júnior, to the region, Aia-Eza da Silva said that financial grounds, caused by the drop in revenues, led the Executive to make the above decision.
Aia-Eza da Silva said the revised budget decreased by 40 percent, or from about 8 billion Kwanzas /month to AKz 5 billion kwanzas / month.
So far, statistics point to the implementation of about 667 projects out of a total of 1,647, of which 68% are local and 32% central initiatives.
The projects include roads, bridges, schools, hospitals and medical centers, among other equipment, according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
Some 387 projects, out of a total of 435 eligible for execution, have their amount allocated, paid and are in materialisation stage.
However, the Angolan Executive made available a settled amount of AKZ 9.4 billion for 2020, with a cumulative total execution of AKZ 21.8 billion.
Launched in August 2019 by the President João Lourenço, the initial PIIM foresaw 236 actions, with stress to the sectors of health, education, construction and public works, administrative infrastructures, roads, energy and water, security and public order, urbanism, and basic sanitation.
