New Luanda multipurpose terminal management to be announced within 60 days

Luanda - The winner of the international public contest launched on 16 December for the post of management of Luanda Port Multipurpose Terminal will be known within 60 days.

This was announced Wednesday by the CEO of the port public company, Alberto Bengue, who was speaking at opening of  the proposals of  the five candidate companies.

Bengue stated that the process is being analyze by the evaluation commission of the international public contest for the terminal concession.  

The deadline to submit the candidature , whose deadline was set for  30 March, had been postponed until 29 May due to the State of Emergency amid covid-19 pandemic.

Initially nine companies from several countries submitted their application but only five among them, including one national company, have delivered their proposals. 

They are Multiparques Terminal Link (national), Sifax Group, DP World, ICTS internacional Container Terminal Services and SAS/MPLFI (MSC), all foreigners. 

As mandatory requirements for participation in the tender, among others, bidders must have an average annual turnover of the last three fiscal years not less than the equivalent of USD 100 million.

They must also have a net asset equivalent of not less than USD 100 million, and a fully equity capital equivalent of not less than USD 25 million.
