Angola: MPs visit Independent university facilities

Luanda - MPs assigned to the 8th Specialized Working Committee of the National Assembly visited on Thursday in Luanda the Independent University of Angola (UNIA) in order to learn about the functioning of that teaching institution.

During the visit, the university principal, Filipe Zau, presented the strategic development plan of management, training and scientific research of the institution towards teachers.

According to him, it is from this axis that the UNIA is looking to disassemble the work plan at the level of administrative, training and research aspects.

To him, this work is based on five variables of the teaching staff and students of the organization and management.

He said it is from this axis that UNIA seeks to convey the improvement plan after conducting diagnosis.

Speaking to the press, the head of the 8th Commission, Francisco Fernando Heitor, said that the visit is part of the compliance with the programme authorized by the National Assembly to check the functioning of the teaching institutions.

He expressed his satisfaction at the organizational and control process of the institution, in relation to the admission of teachers and student’s evaluation.

The MP appealed to other institutions to follow the example, so as to improve their development.
