Education minister wants citizens equipped with knowledge, financial skills

Luanda - The minister of Education, Pinda Simão, Tuesday, in Luanda, urged citizens to acquire financial knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of the future.

The official said so while speaking at the launching ceremony of "Project on Inclusion of Financial Literacy in the Education System in Angola", an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MED) and the National Bank of Angola (BNA).

He noted that in the process of acquiring knowledge and financial skills of citizens, the school plays a key role.

According to the Government minister, the well-trained young people will be more at ease in decision-making in a large and complex financial environment, related to everyday life.

The meeting, held in Luanda Higher Institute of Economics (IMEL), was witnessed by the minister for Higher Education, Adão do Nascimento, the governor of BNA, José Pedro de Morais, bank technicians, teachers, students and other guests.
