Namibe: Minister deems education development factor
Tômbwa - Education minister Mpinda Simão said last Monday in Tômbwa Municipality, south-western Namibe Province, that education is a factor that contributes to the development of the country, reason why the Angolan state continues to support this sector even though it has scant financial resources to better invest in this area.

The minister made this statement in the end of a work visit that he paid to the fishing municipality of Tômbwa.
In this visit to Tômbwa, the minister held meetings with school directors, members of the Municipal Administration and chieftains.
Speaking to the press during the visit, Mpinda Simão reminded that Angola ascended to independence with a very high rate of illiteracy.
“Today, thanks to the fruits of this independence, we are all committed, more concretely in this last stage of illiteracy eradication, because we were totally dependent on foreign teachers to secure basic, high and higher education, but today we have effective coverage of the education system with Angolan teachers”, he explained.
He also assured that the Ministry continues to work so that there can be a certain quality of the education system.
