Confucius institute strengthens Angola-China cultural ties
Luanda - The opening of Confucius Institute at Agostinho Neto University (UAN) will strengthen cultural and linguistic relations between Angola and China, said Wednesday in Luanda the minister of Higher Education, Adão do Nascimento.

Adão do Nascimento was speaking at the opening ceremony of Confucius Institute, adding that the initiative will enable to increase scientific exchange.
According to him, the Institute will allow students to know about the culture and mainly the language that will be used as a tool in relations between the two countries.
The official stressed that the organic unit will also enable Angolans to be familiar with the Asian partner with which the country has a privileged partnership.
"Taking into account its economic development, China is a giant and culturally rich nation. We believe it is possible to learn about this Asian country. Therefore, this institute will help achieve this goal, "he said.
Adão do Nascimento also believes that the institute will train not only the students but also the staff of the administration who want to learn Mandarin and the culture of this Angola partner.
He also believes that the opening of the Confucius Institute opens a new page in the cultural relations and education field between the two countries.
The Confucius Institute at UAN is a donation by CITIC Construction with functions of providing training, talks and events.
The Confucius Institute is the result of a cooperation protocol signed in March 2014 by Agostinho Neto University, the Confucius Institute, the Harbin Normal University and CITIC Construction.
The protocol aims to promote language and culture of China to boost the exchange between Angola and the Asian nation.
