Tocoist church inaugurates Higher Polytechnic Institute

Luanda - The Higher Polytechnic Institute of the Simão Toco Church (Tocoist Church) was inaugurated last Monday, in Luanda, during a ceremony chaired by the acting minister for Higher Education, António Miguel André.

The ceremony was attended by the governor of Luanda Province, Higino Carneiro, and the Tocoist Church leader, bishop Afonso Nunes.

Approved by the Cabinet Council on February 2016, the Higher Polytechnic Institute (ISPT) has the capacity to enrol three thousand students in the courses of Civil Engineering, Electrotechnology, Architecture, Accounting and Finance, and Sociology.  

The school has 38 classrooms fully equipped with computers, seven laboratories, a library, and a vast amphitheatre, among other facilities.   

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the acting Higher Education minister, António André, the secretaries of State for Culture, and Science and Technology, Cornélio Caley
and João Teta respectively, Luanda's deputy governor for social policy, Jovelina Imperial, and representatives of  recognised churches.

The Tocoist Church is also denominated Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World.
