Education minister visits Zaire

Mbanza Kongo - The Minister of Education, Maria Cândida Teixeira, arrives this Sunday at Mbanza Kongo for a working visit to the province of Zaire.

The follow-up visit to the development of the educational system in the province continues until Tuesday, April 17.

Maria Cândida Teixeira travels with her Secretary of State for Pre-School and General Education, Joaquim Cabral.

The province of Zaire has enrolled in the current academic year 150,000 general education students, with 201 classrooms distributed in 306 schools.

The region has a deficit of 289 classrooms and 390 teachers, according to data from the Provincial Education Directorate.

The Ministry of Education made available to the province 668 vacancies for the admission of new general education teachers in the current school year.
