The assurance came from Secretary of State for Education, Jesus Baptista.

Jesus Baptista made the pledge Monday to the press at the opening ceremony of the scheme on Teacher Training for Primary Education in Angola (PREPA), going until Saturday.

He stressed that the strategy of betting on teacher training aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the country.

He explained that PREPA is a training action focused on the areas of methodologies and pedagogical practices, whose objective is to improve teachers' skills in writing, reading and mathematical calculations.

"After the educational reform we had some gaps, but now we are shedding some details that initially will entail the training of teachers," he said.

He recalled that the motto of the MED is the preparation of primary school teachers to obtain excellent pupils in secondary education.
