According to the official - who spoke in the opening of the 9th Scientific and Pedagogic events of the Higher Education Sciences Institute (ISCED), Benguela Province branch – there has to be enough maturity to deal with this new stage in the country’s politico-administrative structure, characterised by the preparation of the first local elections, scheduled to happen in the year 2020.

“We need to explain well what local elections mean (...), having into account the need to improve people’s living standards, highlighting the importance of making citizens become real active agents, so that an elected local government can effectively function”, he emphasised.

The Scientific and Pedagogic events of the Higher Education Sciences Institute (ISCED) is to last two days.
