Bie: Governor slams taking children to farms in class time

Camacupa - The governor of the central Bie province Pereira Alfredo Wednesday discouraged the parents and guardians from taking their children to farming in the regular class period.

Pereira Alfredo was speaking at a meeting with members of civil society in the municipality of Camacupa, saying that taking the kids to farming in class period disrupts their academic performance.

He added that such an attitude may cause the minor's fail the exam as he/she may lose academic content and not attending to the teacher's explanation.

On the other hand, he said this attitude goes against the 11 Child Commitments that give priority to school and education of minors.

Camacupa is located 82 kilometers east of Cuito, the capital of Bie province.
