ISCED literacy program reaches over 5,000 adults

Huambo - At least 5,262 adults, male and female, were taught to how read and write this year by the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (ISCED), through modules 1 and 2, under a cooperation agreement with the Education Office in this area.

The initiative, whose program was carried out by third year students in various undergraduate courses, aims, above all, to make more citizens know how to read and write and to help them better understand the economic, social and political situation in the country.

Speaking at the end of the training, ISCED Deputy Director General for Academic Area, Afonso Vindassi Manuel, informed that module 1 of the literacy campaign, under the slogan “Learn to Shine”, included 1st grade, while phase 2 focuses on 2nd grade.
