The director general of INAGBE), Milton da Silva Chivela, said Wednesday that the situation will clarified during a video conference to be held on Thursday (7th May) via the zoom platform, aimed to address various aspects related to the scholarships.

The INAGBE official told Angop that there is currently a three-month delay in the payment of scholarship subsidy for students residing in Cuba, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Namibia.

In other countries, he said, the delay is of two months.

For the execution of the payment of subsidies abroad, INAGBE interacts with the commercial banks BPC and BCI, stating that there is communication among the involved parties to regularise the subsidies in arrears.

“INAGBE recognizes that the financial situation of students is not easy, so there is awareness of the negative impact it has generated in their life. We hope that the situation will be resolved as soon as possible”, he said, calling on student community to continue working with INAGBE on solution of the problems.

INAGBE finances the studies for 2,563 students in 23 countries, 50% of whom are in Cuba.
