Citizens over 18 years old summoned to military census

Luanda - The Ministry of National Defense (MDN) determines in a decree that all Angolan male citizens born between January 1 and December 31, 2000, must carry out a military census in the period as from January 4 and February 28, 2018.

According to the order, which reached Angop on Tuesday, the military census to be carried out throughout the national territory and outside the country, has the purpose of obtaining the information of all citizens who reach, each year, the age of the beginning of military obligations, within the framework of Law Number. 1/93 of 26 March.

The document was signed by the incumbent Minister of the National Defense, Salviano de Jesus Sequeira, acted in accordance with the powers delegated by the President of the Republic, pursuant to article 137 of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and other related legislation.

The program establishes that the military census should be carried out in municipal and communal administrations, settlements, diplomatic and consular missions, as well as in other places to be determined by the agencies responsible for the activity.
