Angola: Kaposoka Orchestra performs at "Show of the Month"

Luanda - The Kaposoka symphony orchestra will perform on Friday and Saturday in one of the hotels in Talatona (Luanda), in the musical project "Show of the Month", which aims to promote national music.

After a tour in Italy, in the cities of Rome, Milan, Florence and Turin, venues of the Expo, the orchestra will offer to the fans of classical music two nights of shows, the first one of the orchestra since its foundation.

International themes such as "Pirates of the Caribbean" and the "Godfather", will be part of the repertoire, as well as the national themes "Filhas de África" and "Yembele Yembele".

The orchestra, under the responsibility of the university professor Pedro Fançony, won an international award in Iguaçu (Argentina) during the third Festival of Youth Orchestras in 2012.

It was founded on October 10, 2008 with 67 children. Currently, it comprises 1,260 children.

With the support of the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, this year the project will expand across the country, in order to convey social and educational values to children of various ages, through the teaching of music.
