Luísa Fançony wins cultural journalism award

Luanda - The presenter of radio programmes Reencontrar África and Afrikiya, Maria Luísa Fançony, won the 2017 National Award of Culture and Arts 2017 in the category of cultural journalism.

According to the jury, the work of the journalist has always been based on a didactic posture, quality in aesthetics and narrative elaboration, longevity, and persistence in the theme, in journalistic treatment and dissemination of aspects of the Angolan and African culture.

Maria Luísa Fançony, among other achievements, founded in 1992, the radio Luanda Antena Comercial (LAC), together with Mateus Gonçalves and José Rodrigues, of which she is the director.

Luísa Fançony was also a senior staff at State-owned Radio Nacional de Angola (RNA) and Televisão Pública de Angola (TPA), with programmes linked to women and debates of social issues.

In 2009, she was elected a Diva of Communications.

Lately she made a degree in Educational Psychology, an option that she considers important due to the specificity of the programmes she has always produced on the radio.
