This was to by the Angolan carnival groups spokesperson, Polly Rocha, expressing their displeasure at the reception of financial and material support for the adequate preparation of the groups, should the situation is not resolved as quickly as possible, the groups wil not compete in the Carnival in February 2018.

Polly Rocha said that the delay is creating several constraints to the groups, which are unable to prepare properly the parade to the Marginal of Luanda on the due days of Luanda carnival.

The chairman of APROCAL, António de Oliveira "Delon", contacted by Angop, regretted the fact and stated that the resolution of this situation is beyond the reach of the association, which is why he is working with the Ministry of Culture and the Government of Luanda to unblock the financial incentives barrier.

Requesting the groups patience and calm, he stressed that as soon as APROCAL receives the money and material the association will make the distribution of the respective material.

Luanda Carnival will count on the participation of 45 groups in the three categories.
