Mbanza Kongo should become center of cultural activity - minister

Dundo - The Culture minister, Carolina Cerqueira, urged Angolans on Monday in Dundo city to redouble efforts through varied artistic manifestations so as to turn Mbanza Kongo city into a center of cultural activity.

Addressing the central act of the National Culture Day, the official explained that Mbanza Kongo’s recognition as world heritage besides dignifying Angola will make the country redouble efforts to boost the scientific activity in the region through higher education and scientific institutions.

Carolina Cerqueira also highlighted in her speech the cultural richness of the people of the eastern province of Lunda- Norte underlining its architecture, handicrafts, weaving, local steelworks and the different artistic manifestations that extend beyond the borders of the province and even Angola.
