State secretary for Culture appeals for family cohesion
Luanda -The secretary of State for Culture, Maria da Piedade de Jesus, last Monday defended that cohesion within the families and reinforcement of the sensitisation work against domestic violence are essential factors for the achievement of the goals relating to sustainable development and socioeconomic wellbeing.

Maria da Piedade de Jesus said so when delivering a lecture on “The promotion of a peace culture in the Angolan society”, in the ambit of institutional events organised in celebration of the month dedicated to women (March).
She assured that the Angolan authorities, in face of the present socioeconomic context, are focussing on the reduction of poverty and illiteracy, as well as strengthening the fight against various epidemics and putting an end to violence against children prompted by accusations of being witches, among other ills in society.
Besides underscoring the contribution of churches, in its social actions, in favour of families, Maria da Piedade de Jesus also stressed the need to strengthen the actions turned to the civic and ethico-moral education of citizens, with a view to the retrieval of values in the Angolan society.
