Angola, UNCTAD discuss cultural cooperation

Luanda - Cultural cooperation, with stress to training of staff of cultural tourism, cinema, restoration of heritage, music and handicrafts, topped Thursday's audience the minister of Culture Carolina Cerqueira granted to the Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Mukshia Kituyi.

Carolina Cerqueira told the press that the meeting aimed at seeking contributions and other aspects to help develop artistic activity and enhance culture industries.

The minister defended the creation of small industries linked to the production of handicrafts.

The objective is to enable artisans to produce high quality pieces that contribute to family income, resulting from the sale of their works.

On the musical aspect, Carolina Cerqueira spoke of the need to create a record factory to help Angolan artists, who have spent large sums to produce their works abroad.

She also pointing out the need for more publishers and mobile libraries that allow to take the book to the communities.

In turn, Mukshia Kituyi expressed his institution's availability to support the projects presented by Ministry of Culture, under the cooperation with Angola.
