Book policy to revolutionize teaching process
Luanda - The implementation of the book policy could revolutionize fundamental aspects related to improving the quality of the teaching and learning process, said Friday in Luanda, the minister of Education (MED), Maria Cândida Teixeira.

Maria Cândida Teixeira said so during the public hearing on the proposal of school book policy, which, among other objectives, aims to regulate the preparation, edition, evaluation and certification, choice, production, distribution, surveillance, use and preservation of schoolbook.
The Cabinet minister believes that through a spirit of dialogue and cooperation it can be enrich the content of the school book policy, allowing its validity to increase the literacy levels of learners and consequently the valuation of national human capital in ways to take the promotion of Angola to the high levels of the knowledge society.
The official said that the concern of States committed to promoting the well-being of the population has been to define public policies capable of contributing to the development of society.
For this purpose, education is an indispensable social factor, since it allows the promotion of competences, skills, attitudes, values and ethical principles adequate to the expectations regarding the solution of the different social problems.
To her, no development programme is promising, from a performance standpoint, if the country does not have qualified technicians for its implementation, and if the citizens do not have the desired levels of literacy to ensure their participation in such programmes, as active and critical agents, taking into account their real expectations.
On the other, hand it will only be possible if there is quality in the teaching and learning process, she concluded.
