Angola and Russia focus on strengthening cultural cooperation

Luanda - The Russian Federation on Wednesday expressed its intention to strengthen cultural cooperation with Angola in a wide range of areas.

Minister of Culture, Carolina Cerqueira, welcomes Russian ambassador

According to the Russian ambassador to Angola, Vladimir Lararov, who spoke during an audience with the Minister of Culture, Carolina Cerqueira, the two countries have a common history that must also be felt in the cultural domain.

Minister Carolina Cerqueira chose as priorities the areas of staff training with particular emphasis on the aspects of heritage, music, museology, among others.

Carolina Cerqueira stressed the need for the two peoples to maintain a more direct contact with the traits and cultural identity of each one, for a better understanding of the way of life of the respective peoples and closer friendship between the two countries.

According to the minister, in the context of cooperation between the two countries, cultural exchange opens up prospects for understanding the mutual economic potential, history and identity of each nation, taking into account the geopolitical context in which they are inserted.

The Russian diplomat took the opportunity to invite the Minister to attend the International Forum on Culture to take place from 15 to 17 November in St Petersburg, at which time the Minister thanked and guaranteed the participation of the Ministry of Culture in that important forum world.
