Angola’s Luanda hosts Biennial of Peace in September
Luanda, Jan. 1 (Angop) - The first edition of the Luanda Peace Biennial of the Pan-African Peace Culture Forum in Africa takes place as from September 18 to 22.

The event is a co-organization between the Angolan Government, through the Ministry of Culture, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The forum aims to involve African countries in a culture of peace, harmony and brotherhood among peoples through cultural and civic activities.
Speaking during a press conference Friday, the national coordinator of the event, Alexandra Aparício, said the event which will gather 12 African countries also aims to promote a reflection and dissemination of artistic works, ideas and knowledge related to the culture of peace and non- violence.
UNESCO's representative in Central Africa, Vincenzo Fazzino, said that during five days of activity, Luanda will be transformed into a space for exchange and promotion of African culture, involving individuals related to arts, politics, and others.
The Biennial will also have the support of the African Union which will receive information on the event at the next Summit of Heads of State and Government this month February in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
