Recreativo Kilamba wins carnival competition 2019 in Luanda

Luanda - With 912 points, the group União Recriativo Kilamba won the 2019 edition of the Luanda Carnival, in Class A (main adults category).

União Recreativo Kilamba carnival group win Luanda Carnival's main contest

During their performance on the New Marginal Boulevard, the group presented a portrait of the country's slavery process, enlightening the public with the gains obtained with the achievement of national independence.

The second place was taken by the titles record holder of Luanda Carnival, with 13 achievements, namely the group União Mundo da Ilha from Luanda Island, while União Nginga Mbade, from the municipality of Viana occupied the third place.

The award of the prizes closed with Uinião Kiela and the União 10 de Dezembro respectively.

In view of the published results for the main parade, the relegated groups (that moved down to Category B now) are União Sagrada  Esperança, Twabixila Povo da  Samba,  Etu Mudietu, Twafundumuka, Giza Nova Geração do Mar, Geração Sagrada, Jovens do Mukuaxi, and Juventude do  Kapalanga.
