According to the author, the improvement involves the commitment of all the actors and humanization of the teacher and student relationship, that is, the educator is not only limited in the transmission of knowledge and evaluation based on the reception of the same, but rather seeks to understand the student outside the academic field.
"We cannot simply expel the student because he has fallen asleep in the classroom, without first knowing what is going on with him, giving a negative mark when we know he has the potential to do better, we cannot be proud to fail many students, when this happens because something is not right in our relationship. It is important to know the other side of him /her, "he stressed, reading a chapter of the book, entitled" Students are not numbers ".
In his turn, the journalist Victor Hugo Mendes reiterated the lack of commitment to education by the various figures and called on the media to become more involved in the teaching process, suggesting the implementation, in their syllabus of programs on education, coverage of book launches and others to encourage reading.
On the other hand, Armindo Laureano, a journalist, stresses the need for a thorough analysis involving all sectors of society, through debates and not only, identifying problems, causes and finding solutions.
The book is Composed of 20 texts, among opinion pieces, stories and chronicles, the "O Diario de um Professor " is a book with several types of texts, with greater incidence in the experiences of the author, both as a student and now as a teacher.
Edy Lobo, in the book, "talk" with the reader, whether student, teacher or just in charge of education showing various situations in which many of us as students already live and today as parents we still live.
The diary of a normal teacher appears to de-contextualize some educational prejudices and to make more human the agents directly or indirectly linked to the education system of the country, making each one fulfill his obligations aiming at the common good: Education.
