Promoted by the Shalom movement, belonging to the Catholic Church, in partnership with the Ganda Municipal Administration, the fair aims to encourage the taste for reading and highlight the importance of the book for the intellectual development of people.

For five days, the event also includes the exhibition of 200 classic works of national literature, making reference to authors such as Pepetela, José Luandino Vieira, Raúl David, Mendes de Carvalho, among others.

Speaking to ANGOP, the coordinator of the Shalom movement in Benguela, Graciano Catumbela, said that in this fair, the highlight goes to the figure of the late writer Raúl David, born in Ganda and whose thinking and intellectuality consists of works such as "Coolonizado and colonizador" and "Benguela in the context of yesterday and today".
