Speaking to Angop, residents suggested that artists from the three countries should be more active, bringing to Mbanza Kongo their cultural artistic production to increase cultural exchange.
For them the presence of the three countries in the FestiKongo, should be seen as an t as an opportunity for Angola, DR Congo, Congo Brazzaville and Gabon to show the world the cultural value of the ancient Kongo kingdom.
For Miguel Paulo, 32 years old, the FestiKongo should be seen as the convergence point of the culture of the four countries, which is why it requires the involvement of all the peoples of the region.
Regarding the organizational aspects of the first edition of the event, Miguel Paulo congratulates the organization on efficiency, but understands that the absence of cultural agents from these countries weakened the event.
Maria Mpanzo said the three days have contributed to the strengthening of cultural exchanges between citizens and visitors, with new perspectives in the field of the development of cultural industries.
"We hope for improvements in the coming years, so that this festival gains its space in the context of the events of the kind that take place all over the world," she argued.
Afonso Maiamona commented the fact that the city of Mbanza Kongo is not prepared to welcome so many visitors, calling for investments in terms of accommodation infraestructures.
The FestiKongo, whose opening ceremony was presided over by the Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, is one of the nine recommendations of UNESCO, as part of the registration of the Historic Center of the capital of the former Kingdom of Kongo in the World Heritage list.
The city was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list on 8 July 2017, during the 41st session of the Committee of UNESCO, which took place in the Polish city of Krakow (Poland).
