Angola, US analyse cultural cooperation

Luanda - Angolan minister of Culture Maria da Piedade de Jesus and the United States ambassador , Nina Fite, Monday discussed the cultural cooperation during an audience granted by the former.

Maria da Piedade de Jesus highlighted the areas of training and the exchange in the museum field.

The Angolan official spoke of the need for exchange between the National Slavery Museum and US counterparts.

She mentioned the National Museum of African American and the South Carolina Slavery Museum. 

In turn, the US diplomat invited the Ministry of Culture to present projects for the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage, under the Fund for Cultural Preservation Programme. 

Nina Fite focused on the slave market in Benguela and the heritage located in Massangano. 

 The US ambassador expressed availability to work with the Ministry of Culture on preserving the historical heritage and in disseminating information about the Angola history.
